Created with soft pastels and pastel pencils, the Galactic Road series is a collection of drawings, imagining what a sightseeing tour in outer space would look like, referencing street signs from human culture and history.
This watercolor painting shows two polar bears, a mother and her cub, isolated and separated on a melting ice floe, representing the human hand. I wanted to raise awareness to the effects global warming and the rising sea levels have on polar regions and their species. Knowing that we cannot prevent the melting of ice caps as individuals, we can support organizations that create healthy and abundant oceans, preventing overfishing, pollution, and habitat loss.
To contribute to this cause, I created 100 stickers with this illustration to be sold in my online shop. All proceeds will be donated to Sea Legacy, an organization that helps to create healthy oceans and raises awareness through visual storytelling and conservation missions. A sticker to remind yourself and others of the state of our planet while keeping in mind that we can do something about it.
In the “Cosmic Animal” series, I combine wildlife animals with the cosmos to stress their importance in the universe and nature and to draw attention to the threat many animals face due to the way we treat our planet.
The drawings were created using watercolors and colored pencils.
